Christmas Eve from Paige's point of Veiw

I sprang from my bed. "It's Christmas Eve," I whispered to myself.

I slid on my slippers and headed into the kitchen.

When I got there Caroline was baking waffles. "Morning," I said. "You startled me," she said taking her oven mitt off and walking over to me.

'Where is everyone?" I asked. "Well, Emma is dog-sledding with Julie and Sadie, McKenna went to a gymnastics party and took Rebecca with her, and Lily and Luke are still sleeping," Caroline replied.

"I guess it's just you and me then," I said cheerfully. "Yep!" said Caroline, "at least until the others get home." We both laughed. A loud bang nearby scared me to death a few minutes later. That's when I knew Emma was home.

She usually slams the door behind her. Sadie came walking in tracking snow, Julie came in with snowflakes  stuck to her hat, and then came Emma with the most beautiful snowflakes in her hair that I have ever seen.

A couple of minutes later Emma had lit up the tree and everyone was gathered around the tv watching the Grinch.

Only me and Caroline weren't at the tv, so I went over to watch for a while.

Breakfast was served. I sat at the table and soon everyone was gathered around me, eating Caroline's delicious waffles. There was was sugar, strawberries, syrup and whipped cream in the center of the table. I only put syrup on my waffles, though.

When everyone was finished we all helped make cookies for Santa.

   

We had lots of spare time after that, so we watched some Christmas movies.

At 3 p.m. I took out my book and read for about an hour.

When I was finished Caroline started the meatloaf, so I played on the Xbox with Rebecca until dinner was ready.

We had dinner and then got into our pajamas even though it was only 6. We opened early gifts, like we do every Christmas Eve. I opened my present 3rd because Lily and Luke went before me. By then it was around 6:30, so we played two rounds of UNO. At 7:30 we watched the Polar Express. The movie was over at 9:30 so we went to bed. Julie read us The Night Before Christmas. I couldn't sleep after that. I was too excited to sleep! It took me about an hour to fall asleep, but I did fall asleep. That's my Christmas Eve. What do you do on Christmas Eve?
