Emily gets a Job, a photo story

Hi there! It's me Emily! I haven't been on this blog a lot because I've been busy trying to get a job

And guess what! I actually got one! Today's my first day at Lucy's Cafe.

I'm so excited!

Look at the time!

It's time to go!

I grabbed my coat and headed out.

When I got to Lucy's Cafe a lady at the front desk waved me over

"Hi Emily," she said, "I'm Lucy"

"H-hello," I forced the words out

"You can go put your coat on the rack and I'll give you a tour"

"OK" I said heading where she pointed

I put my coat on the rack and started to head back toward Lucy, 

when...

I missed a wet floor sign and slipped

WHOOSH!!!

 Lucy shook her head disapprovingly

"How about I give you a tour, Emily"

I nodded my head

"This is the front desk where the costomers check in, from here you will lead them to their tables"

 

We walked up the stairs to the second floor.

I had no idea that the tables were upstairs.

"This is where they eat, you are responsible for serving them and making sure they pay"

 We walked back down the stairs.

Let me tell you right now,

I'm going to have to walk up a lot of stairs.

 "This is the kitchen, you are not allowed in the actually kitchen area, all of the meals you have to deliver are right here on this table"

 "You already know this is the clothes rack"

 "Here is the waiting room, it will fill up fast!"

 "Ok, Emily, are you ready? The Cafe opens in 2 minutes"

"I think so" I replied

 "Remember to smile, and full-fit the costomers needs"

 Lucy flipped the closed sign to open.

 Customers were soon at the front desk.

"Table for three," the one in the front said.

 I led the girls upstairs to their table

 "Can I start you off with something to drink today?" I asked

"I'll have a coke," said the one in the blue scarf

"Me too," the one in  the gloves said

"And what about you?" I asked the one in the purple shirt

"I'll just have water," she replied

"Coming right up," I said as started to leave

Soon I had the drinks and was heading back to their table.

 "Here you go," I handed the one in the gloves a coke

"Thanks!" she replied

I handed the one in the purple shirt a coke and the one in the blue scarf the water.

 "Excuse me," said the girl in the purple shirt, "I ordered the water, Bailey ordered the coke"

I reached over the table and swapped the drinks.

As I handed Bailey the coke it toppled over and spilled all over her shirt

 "Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry! Here, let me wipe it up"

"NO, it's fine," Bailey said

"Emily" Lucy called from downstairs, "Please come down here"

I raced down the stairs and saw a customer waiting to be led up to her table

"Right this way," I said

She followed me.

"Are you dining alone today?" I asked

"No," she said "My friend is going to be joining me in a few minutes.

 "What would you like to drink?" I asked once we were at the table.

"Could I please have lemonade... wait milk,"

"Ok," I said heading to the kitchen

I handed her her drink and started to go down the stairs when I heard a yell from another table.

 "Hey, you never took our orders!" Bailey yelled across the restaurant.

 "I just have to check with Lucy real quick"

 I was almost down the stairs when the girl in the purple shirt called down to me.

 "I was wondering if I could have orange juice instead of water, I mean I already have water, but I would like orange juice instead."

"Yeah, sure, in a minute" I replied

 Then the girl at the table by herself asked, "I was wondering..."

Oh, my gosh!

 This job is going to be a lot harder than I thought!
